Dolled Up is Geelong’s only fashion and accessories boutique combined with a glamour studio fully equipped to host girls’ birthday parties from the age of 4 to14.
Having re-opened in July at their new, larger location in Newcomb, the glamour studio has already seen many happy faces walk through the door to celebrate their birthdays.
Owner SallyAnne Mannix acknowledged that, of course, you could never be too old to party like a princess.
The mother of three said Dolled Up created a stress-free environment for parents to sit back and relax while watching their daughter and her guests get glammed up and fussed over.
The birthday cake is the only thing the parents have to bring so, with all else supplied, they can walk away from the mess with their little girls looking like princesses.
All parties are hosted in a pink, glammed-up private function room at the back of the store.
There are a choice of themes according to age; princess parties are usually enjoyed by the four to seven age group, glamour parties six-year-olds and above and for the older girls nine and above an evening disco diva party is offered.
While ultimately a ‘girly’ party, occassionally they do welcome boy guests as well, so Ms Mannix is delighted to make them feel just as special as the girls by spiking and colouring their hair to become a prince.
All age groups will do an activity to take home – the princesses make a craft, while the glamour and disco diva queens will make themselves a bracelet.
The princesses get a tiara which they love wearing home, while glamour girls get to choose a colour hair extension incorporated into their hairstyle and the disco diva queens receive a colour choice from a selection of feather hair extensions.
To top it off, they are all ‘prettied’ up with hair glitter, beautiful face art designs and glitter, a touch of lip gloss and painted nails.
As the guests are eagerly waiting their turn to sit up at the glamorous make-up bench to be pampered, they can help themselves to the fingerfood, and sing and dance on stage before the time comes to sing happy birthday to the birthday girl, enjoy some cake and play some party games.
All guests get a surprise take home gift and a balloon, with the birthday girl receiving a special gift.
Dolled Up also offers mini-makeovers for special occasions such as formals, weddings, Grade 6 graduations or simply as a special treat over the school holidays.
The shop at the front of the store stocks the lastest trends in good quality clothing including party dresses and fairy skirts, predominantly for girls up to size 12 with a range of jewellery, accessories and giftware.
