Hi everyone!
How’s the Christmas prep going?
Well, so far in the Hilton/Cox house we’ve managed to get the carols piping on high rotation, the Elf on the Shelf has made her grand entrance, the tree is up with a revamped look (brand new silver and aqua decorations) and under the tree there is … zilch!
I tell myself every year that I’ll get my act together, plan out presents, stick to a budget and not stress myself out by leaving EVERYTHING until the week before.
Maybe I’m addicted to the rush. I must admit I do love a late night Kmart frenzy. Wish me luck!
Our fourth edition of GCK is a ripper!
I caught up with Lana Purcell – owner of Sprouts Canteen and Cooking School. This supercharged Ocean Grove mum is on a mission to improve the nutritional knowledge and general health of our local little ones.
Also in this issue, Luke Voogt takes a look at the Barwon Infant Study. A fascinating study performed on over 1000 local infants to collect vital information to help give all our babies the best start in life.
Ocean Grove mum Kate McLean, of Whale Spout children’s clothing label, answers all mothers’ pleas by designing age appropriate children’s wear that allows kids to dress as kids – not mini adults.
Award winning swim instructor Michelle McInnes from Splashdown gives us a timely reminder of the importance of getting our children comfortable in the water – from as little as six months old.
In 2017 a family favourite will return – GPAC’s Love Central Geelong Family Magic Program. Showcasing six fantastic family productions, all based on popular children’s stories – a great one to pop in the diary.
There are also lots of book and game reviews, a Kids Kalendar with ideas to inspire you and some great shots of Santa’s arrival at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre.
From everyone here at GCK, have a wonderful Christmas! I hope all of you parents get some well-deserved rest over the break.
Stay safe and we’ll see you again in 2017.
