History was created recently when young artists from Bostock House Early Learning Centre at Geelong Grammar worked collaboratively with local artist Kaz McGlynn, founder of award winning art’sKool at Kazworks.
Ninety Prep to Grade 4 children created Manga-style figurative artworks reflecting the different universal virtues and character strengths taught at Bostock House.
Five four-metre brightly coloured metal sculptures in Kaz McGlynn’s unique style were designed, produced and installed to the entry to Bostock House.
Geelong Grammar is running a conference in April 2018 where you can view the process of the children working with these examples of Kazworks public art created from the heart with school-age children.
The conference is embedded in the science of positive psychology, which Ms McGlynn is a strong advocate for.
“By engaging young people in public art, they can create art pieces and have fun while making a difference in their community,” she said
Kaz runs the award winning art’sKool, an art school that is based on the coast at Ocean Grove. Kaz’s art’sKool provides programs that are unique and modern, inspiring every child to have fun and unleash their artistic flair
The program’s successful students, with Kaz’s encouragement, have gone on to be involved in community arts activities and other public art projects both locally and within the Geelong area. Many of her young students have won local and national arts awards.
